Education and skill levels
of human resource are significant determinants of success
or failure of human-resource led strategy of a knowledge
society in a globalised world. The changing demands of global
society entails the need to constantly upgrade the skills
and adaptability of human resource with more imaginative
educational expansion that can support an accelerated spread
of new technologies in the education system.

In recent years, several
countries in Asia have responded to this global need through
national education strategies with a focus on integration
of ICT in education at all levels. However, counties are
still in different stages of this integration, coping with
challenges of infrastructure and implementation.

Digital Learning
Asia will
take stock of the progress of the Asian countries in utilizing
ICTs to enhance the quality and reach of education and capacity
building. The conference will provide a platform for policymakers,
practitioners, industry leaders and academicians to share
experiences, knowledge and perspectives in integrating ICTs
in education and deliberate on the future strategies for
education that can strengthen the knowledge society.
